ミャンマー出身。25歳。2019年10月15日から約2.5か月間湘南貿易のインターン生として来日してくれました！

―――まずはご自身のことを教えてください。 / First, tell me about you (native country, age and present job)

Htet：私の名前はHtet Ye Wynn、25歳、ミャンマー出身です。西ヤンゴン工科大学の機械工学科を卒業しました。学生時代に、再生可能エネルギーやそれと関連する環境に優しい技術に関する分野に情熱を燃やしていたので、たくさんの環境に関する記事や本を読み、いくつかの環境問題への取組に参加しました。そして、私は大学4年生の時にホンダ財団が主催するホンダYES賞を手にすることが出来ました。その時から、汚染を少なくし、自分の住む地域や地球をより緑で満たす為に、自分自身の情熱に従って突き進むよう勇気づけられました。間違いなく、エレマでのインターンシップは私の情熱を追い続ける為の素晴らしい経験になります。私はもう既にここで学ぶすべての事、そしてそれを自分のコミュニティに持ち帰り貢献する意欲は十分です。

My name is Htet Ye Wynn, 25 years old and I’m from Myanmar. I graduated with Mechanical Engineering from West Yangon Technological University. Since during my school years, I had found my passion in renewable energy sector and related eco-friendly technologies, I read a lot of environmental articles, books and participated in some Environmental-Impact Plan Challenges. And I had a chance to grab the opportunity of Honda YES award by Honda Foundation at the fourth year of my university and from that time being, I was encouraged more to follow my passion to make our community and planet more greener and less polluted. Undoubtedly, my internship at Erema will be great experience to continue following my passion and I’m already motivated to learn all the things here and contribute back to our community.

―――インターン先の企業としてエレマを選んだのはなぜですか？ / Why did you choose Elema for your internship?

Htet：日本は、他の国よりも優れた管理体制で一歩先に進んでいるので、私はエレマでのインターンシップの機会を見つけ、それに参加することを決めました。環境問題への適切で持続可能なルールと規制が何であるか、その背後にあるテクノロジーはどのようなものであって、どのように市民を参加させているのかを学ぶことが出来ると思います。

As Japan is being one more step forward in infrastructure of solid management than other countries, I found this amazing opportunity at Erema and decided to be a part of it, so that I can learn what is the proper and sustainable rules and regulations for environmental affairs, what are the technologies behind it and how to attract the public participation.

―――エレマではどんな仕事をする予定ですか？ / What will you do at Elema as a job?

Htet：リサイクル工場を訪問し、リサイクルプロセスの基本工程を学びます。そして、日本とミャンマーの廃棄物管理システムやその基盤の違いや問題点に関しての記事を書きます。最後になりましたが、私はエレマが社会活動イベント（湘南国際マラソンなど）を行うのを手伝い、そこからどの様にプロモーションを行い、一般の方々の参加を促すのかを学びたいと思います。

I will be visiting to waste recycling factories and learn the basic operation of the recycling processes. And then I’ll write the articles about issues and other infrastructural gap between the waste management system of Japan and Myanmar. Last but not least, I will help Erema in managing their social activities event and from that, learning how to promote and attract the social participation more.

―――インターンシップを通じて何を得たいですか？ / What do you want to acquire through the internship?

Htet：インターンシップから、日本の廃棄物管理システムのルールと規制について知り、全国の汚染を最小限に抑えるためにインフラ全体がどのように適切に機能しているかを学びたいです。さらに、私は自分の国、ミャンマーでも適応させて、環境汚染を最小限にできるように、政府と民間企業がパートナーシップや財政の持続可能性、国民参加の観点からどのように調和して活動しているかを学びたいと思います。

From my internship, I would like to know about rules and regulation of waste management system in Japan and to learn how is the whole infrastructure operating properly to make the minimal pollution in the whole country. Moreover, I would like to learn the facts that how the government and private sector operating in harmony in terms of partnership, financial sustainability and public participation so that I can adapt those back in my home country and make the environment less polluted.

―――Htetさんが特に興味を持っている環境問題・分野を教えてください。 / What is the environmental problem that you’re interested in?

Htet：ほとんどの環境問題に興味がありますが、私の国にとって最も脅威となっているのは、人口が増加し、ますます多くの埋め立て地が必要となっている点で、廃棄物管理システムです。だから私は適切なリサイクル方法で、その問題を解決することに貢献したいと思います。

I’m interested in most of the environmental issues but what I found most threating for my country is the solid waste management system since the population is increasing and requires more and more damping sites. So I would like to take part in solving that problem in a way of recycling properly.

上記の写真から、台車やゴミカートにて決められたエリアの各家庭から手作業で収集されたゴミが、収集トラックに積み込まれます。指定されたエリアでは、台車やゴミカートは、廃棄物がトラックに転送されるポイントに必ず行かなければなりません。そして、トラックはすべての廃棄物が燃やされて埋め立てられる最終処分場に向かいます。

Referring the above photo, the trolley collected manually from each of the house in designated area and transfer to the collector truck. Each trollies from the designated area have to come to the rally point, where all the collected waste from each trolley is transferred to the truck. And the truck goes to the final damping area where all the wastes are burnt and landfilled.
